Discord adds an experimental Game Detection Service on Android

Discord has quickly become one of the most popular platforms for online conversation. It allows the creation of “servers” that can contain different “channels” of conversations. Discord is especially popular in gaming communities, but it can be used for many other purposes. We even have an official discord server for XDA developers. Discord has an Android application and is receiving a desktop feature that is requested frequently.

Users can connect Discord to other services to show their activity in their state. For example, you can connect to Spotify and show what you are listening to. Since players use the Discord a lot, it can also show the game you are currently playing. Now, the Android application is testing a feature that can detect the game you’re playing on your phone.

This is an experimental feature that users can enable. The function requires user access so you can detect its activity. So, if you are playing Pokemon GO, the application can detect that the game is open and show it in your state. The function can be accessed through the new “Games” tab on the Settings page.

The game detection feature is being implemented in version 7.9.9. You can register in the beta version from the Play Store page or download APK 7.9.9 right here. If you want your friends to always know what you are doing, this is a very good addition to the mobile application.
